Privacy policy
Pacewise is a chronic illness tracking app. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal or health data.
Who we are
Pacewise is operated for the pacewise.ca product. Questions about privacy: privacy@pacewise.ca.
What we collect
- Account data:email address and optional display name used to sign in and label reports.
- Health tracking you enter: daily check ins such as energy, symptoms, flares, mood, sleep, hydration, food, bowel logs, medications, notes, and conditions you select.
- Optional Health data: if you allow Apple Health access, Pacewise may read heart rate, sleep, or activity data you choose to connect. Pacewise does not write data back to Health.
- Reports: report requests, verified fact summaries, and PDFs you generate for clinic use.
- Subscription status: whether Pacewise Plus is active (via App Store and our entitlement records). Apple processes payment; we do not store your card number.
- Technical data:basic service logs needed to keep the app secure and working (for example authentication and error diagnostics).
How we use data
- Provide your daily tracking, Insights, and clinic briefs.
- Optionally polish clinic brief wording and pattern card wording with an AI provider. Only facts computed in advance are sent for that wording, not your raw day by day logs. Template wording is used if AI is unavailable or fails validation.
- Sync your account across devices you sign into.
- Manage Pacewise Plus entitlements and support requests.
- If you create a clinician link, show a quieter clinic brief (cover, visit questions, and a PDF that omits food, bowel logs, and personal notes) to anyone with that link, for up to 7 days or until you revoke it.
- Improve reliability and fix bugs.
Pacewise is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat conditions. Reports summarize what you logged for discussion with a clinician.
Where data is stored
Account and tracking data are stored with Supabase (hosted Postgres and related services). Access is protected with authentication and row level security so other users cannot read your private logs. Generated report PDFs are stored in a private bucket and shared only through links that expire quickly when you choose to share.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only when:
- You share a report, cover note, or 7 day clinician link yourself (for example with a clinic).
- A service provider processes data for us under contract (hosting, authentication, optional AI narrative generation).
- Required by law, or to protect users and the service from abuse.
Pacewise does not include community or social features. Private daily logs stay in your account unless you choose to share a clinic brief or clinician link.
Your choices
- Edit or clear logs inside the app.
- Export a copy of your data from Settings.
- Turn off optional Health access in iOS Settings.
- Revoke a clinician link in the app at any time.
- Cancel Pacewise Plus in your Apple ID subscription settings.
- Delete your account in Settings. You must type your account email to confirm, and re enter your password if you signed up with email. Deletion is permanent. If Pacewise Plus is active, cancel the Apple subscription separately in your Apple ID settings so billing stops.
- Or request deletion by emailing privacy@pacewise.ca.
Retention
We keep your account and tracking data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for legal, security, or billing reasons.
Children
Pacewise is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. The “Updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
